2 YOUR RIGHTS
You have the following rights in respect of the personal data concerning you:

2.1 GENERAL RIGHTS
You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability. If processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent with effect for the future.
2.2 RIGHTS RELATING TO DATA PROCESSING BASED ON LEGITIMATE INTEREST
According to Art. 21 (1) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you based on Art. 6 (1) (e) GDPR (data processing in the public interest) or on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (data processing to safeguard a legitimate interest), for reasons arising from your particular situation. This also applies to profiling based on this provision. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims.
2.3 RIGHTS IN THE EVENT OF DIRECT MARKETING
If we process your personal data for direct marketing purposes, you have the right, pursuant to Art. 21 (2) GDPR, to object at any time to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of such advertising. 2.4 RIGHT TO COMPLAINT WITH A SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY
You also have the right to complain to a competent data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.

3 COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA WHEN VISITING OUR WEBSITE

If you use the website purely for informational purposes, i.e., if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure stability and security. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR:

IP address: To access MAAPs web pages, the short-term registration of the IP number is essential. The IP address is the globally valid, unique identifier of a computer and consists of four blocks of numbers separated by periods. As a private user, you will usually not use a constant IP address, as it is only assigned to you temporarily by your provider for a single session. However, with static IP addresses, a clear assignment of user data using this feature is, in principle, possible. Our web servers store IP addresses for a maximum of 24 hours. After that, the access data is anonymized.

  • Date and time of the request

  • Time zone difference from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

  • Content of the request (specific page)

  • Access status/HTTP status code

  • Amount of data transferred in each case

  • Website from which the request originated

  • Browser

  • Operating system and its interface

  • Language and version of the browser software

4 CONTACTING US BY EMAIL OR CONTACT FORM
When you contact us by email or via a contact form, the data you provide (your email address, your name, if applicable, and your telephone number) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. If we request information via our contact form that is not required to contact you, we have marked it as optional. This information helps us to clarify your inquiry and to better process your request. This information is provided expressly on a voluntary basis and with your consent, in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. If this information relates to communication channels (e.g., email address, telephone number), you also consent to us contacting you via this communication channel if necessary to answer your request. You can, of course, revoke this consent at any time for the future.
We will delete the data collected in this context once storage is no longer required or restrict processing if statutory retention periods apply.

5 NEWSLETTER
5.1 GENERAL INFORMATION
With your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, you can subscribe to our newsletter, which informs you about our environmental protection work. We use the so-called double opt-in procedure to register for our newsletter. This means that after you register, we will send you an email to the email address you provided, asking you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. If you do not confirm your registration, your information will be deleted.

The mandatory information for sending the newsletter is:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email

After your confirmation, we will save your email address for the purpose of sending the newsletter. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. You can revoke your consent by clicking on the link provided in each newsletter email or by sending a request to investor-relations@mata-atlantica.org. The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. Your email address will therefore be stored as long as your newsletter subscription is active.

5.2 NEWSLETTER TRACKING
Please note that we evaluate your user behavior when sending the newsletter. We record whether the newsletter has been opened. Embedded links contain UTM parameters. The UTM parameters allow us to add trackable extensions to your URLs.

The parameters are:

  • medium: This parameter describes the medium in which the link is embedded. Examples: email, social media, or website.

  • source: With this UTM parameter, we define the source of the link. This can be newsletters, websites, apps, or social media channels.

  • campaign: This type of UTM parameter identifies the actual campaigns. For example, if we send you a newsletter every month, each newsletter can be analyzed separately.

  • term: Keywords to help identify the link.

  • content: Within a campaign, we insert various trackable elements to uniquely identify them and analyze them separately. Examples: buttons, images, or videos.

The data is collected exclusively in pseudonymized form.

6 USE OF COOKIES

When you use our website, cookies are stored on your computer. Cookies are small text files stored on your hard disk associated with the browser you use. They allow certain information to be sent to the location that placed the cookies. Cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They are designed to make the internet more user-friendly and effective.
This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and functionality of which are explained below:

6.1 TRANSIENT COOKIES
These cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. This includes, in particular, session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, which allows various requests from your browser to be assigned to the shared session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.

6.2 PERSISTENT COOKIES
These cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser's security settings.

6.3 THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
We use so-called third-party cookies on this website. A third-party cookie is set by a third party, not by the actual website you are currently visiting. Third-party cookies can store the number of page views and the length of time spent on a website or the path a user has taken via hyperlinks. They enable the tracking of user behavior across different websites. You can delete cookies at any time using your browser's security settings. Currently, third-party cookies, namely for DoubleClick and New Relic, are set on our website via the service YouTube, LLC., 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, and Stackla, 22 Upper Ground, South Bank, London SE1 9PD, UK. Further information on this can be found below under sections 12.2 and 12.6 and in the YouTube and Stackla privacy policies.

6.4 PREVENTION OF COOKIES
You can configure your browser settings according to your preferences and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. Please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all functions of this website.

6.5 LEGAL BASIS AND STORAGE PERIOD
The legal bases for possible processing of personal data and their storage periods vary and are described in the following sections.

7 WEBSITE ANALYSIS

For the purposes of analyzing and optimizing our websites, we use Matomo, which is explained below. This allows us to analyze, for example, how many users visit our site, which information is most in demand, or how users find the service. We collect, among other things, data about the website from which a data subject came to a website (so-called referrer), which subpages of the website were accessed, and how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. This helps us to make our website more user-friendly and improve it. The data collected in this way is not used to personally identify individual users. Anonymous or at most pseudonymous data is collected. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

7.1 USE OF MATOMO
This website uses the open source web analysis service Matomo. Matomo uses so-called "cookies." These are text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your website usage. For this purpose, the information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is stored on our server. The IP address is masked according to the 192.168.xxx.xxx format. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website will not be passed on to third parties. You can prevent cookies from being stored by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. If you do not agree to the storage and use of your data, you can deactivate the storage and use here. In this case, an opt-out cookie is stored in your browser, which prevents Matomo from storing usage data. If you delete your cookies, the Matomo opt-out cookie will also be deleted. The opt-out must be reactivated when you visit our site again.

7.2 USE OF GOOGLE MAPS
We use Google Maps, a service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). Google Maps integrates maps into our website, for example, to display our location. If you access a website on our website that includes Google Maps, a connection will be established to a Google server and your IP address will be transmitted to display the map and stored there. Depending on the device used and the permissions granted for the app, your location and user data may also be transmitted. The server location may be in the USA. The legal basis for the use of Google Maps is our legitimate interest in optimizing our online offering, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Further information on how Google handles user data and cookies can be found in Google's privacy policy:

https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.You can use the Ad Settings to manage your advertising settings on Google or disable personalized advertising.

8 ADVERTISING
8.1 GOOGLE TAG MANAGER
We use Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). Google Tag Manager itself does not collect any personal data. Tag Manager makes it easier for us to integrate and manage our tags. Tags are small pieces of code that are used, among other things, to measure traffic and visitor behavior, record the impact of online advertising and social channels, set up remarketing and audience targeting, and test and optimize websites. If you have opted out of personalized advertising by Google, this opt-out will be honored by Google Tag Manager. Further information about Google Tag Manager can be found at

https://www.google.com/intl/de/tagmanager/use-policy.html.

For more information about Google's use of data for marketing purposes, please visit the advertising overview page and see Google's privacy policy. If you wish to opt out of interest-based advertising through Google Marketing Services, you can use the settings and opt-out options provided by Google:http://www.google.com/ads/preferences.

8.2 DOUBLECLICK BY GOOGLE
We use DoubleClick, a service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). The service is integrated via YouTube. DoubleClick uses cookies to serve user-based ads. The use of DoubleClick cookies enables Google and its partner websites to serve ads based on previous visits to our website or other websites on the Internet. The cookies recognize which ads have already been served in your browser and whether you accessed a website via a served ad. Data subjects are all users of our online offering. The legal basis for the use of Google DoubleClick is our legitimate interest in optimizing our online offering and promoting our association's purposes, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If you do not wish to receive user-based advertising, you can deactivate the display of ads using Google's ad settings. For more information about what types of cookies Google uses and how they are used, please see Google's privacy policy and "Types of cookies used by Google."

8.3 GOOGLE ADWORDS AND CONVERSION TRACKING

To draw attention to our current projects and developments, planned activities, or truly environmentally friendly products and services, we place Google AdWords ads and use Google Conversion Tracking as part of this. These ads are displayed after search queries on websites in the Google advertising network. We have the option of combining our ads with specific search terms. We also use AdWords remarketing lists for search ads. This allows us to tailor search ad campaigns for users who have previously visited our website. These services allow us to combine our ads with specific search terms or to display ads for previous visitors, for example, advertising services that visitors have viewed on our website. An analysis of online user behavior is necessary for interest-based offers. Google uses cookies to perform this analysis. When you click on an ad or visit our website, Google places a cookie on the user's computer. This information is used to target the visitor for a subsequent search query. Further information on the cookie technology used can also be found in Google's information on website statistics and in the privacy policy. With the help of this technology, Google and we as the customer receive information that a user has clicked on an ad and been redirected to our website. The information obtained is used exclusively for statistical analysis for ad optimization. We do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify visitors. Your IP address will be transmitted to Google. However, since we use Google's IP masking on this website as part of the use of Google Analytics, your IP address is anonymized. The statistics provided to us by Google include the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and, if applicable, whether they were redirected to a page on our website with a conversion tag. Based on these statistics, we can understand which search terms were clicked on our ad most frequently and which ads led to the user contacting us via the contact form. If you do not want this, you can prevent the storage of cookies required for these technologies, for example, via your browser settings. In this case, your visit will not be included in user statistics. You also have the option of selecting the types of Google ads or deactivating interest-based ads on Google via the ad settings. Alternatively, you can deactivate the use of cookies by third parties by accessing the Network Advertising Initiative's deactivation tool. However, we and Google will continue to receive statistical information about how many users visited this site and when. If you do not want to be included in these statistics either, you can prevent this using additional programs for your browser (e.g., the Ghostery add-on).

8.4 GOOGLE DYNAMIC REMARKETING
Our website uses the dynamic remarketing feature of Google AdWords, a service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; "Google"). This technology enables us to display automatically generated, targeted advertising after your visit to our website. The ads are based on the online engagement options we offer that you clicked on during your last visit to our website. These may include online petitions or donation forms.  Google uses cookies to create interest-based ads. Cookies are small text files that are stored in your browser when you visit our website. Google typically stores information such as your web request, IP address, browser type, browser language, and the date and time of your request. This information is only used to assign the web browser to a specific computer. It is not used to identify an individual. For remarketing, we only use data that we have already collected using Google Analytics. For this purpose, we create target groups based on the Google Analytics data already collected. The goal is to be able to target users who have completed certain steps on the website. For this purpose, advertisements are then provided for the defined target groups in the Google Display Network. The existing Google Analytics pixel is used for data collection, and all data required for analysis is stored in a cookie. Since data is collected via Google Analytics, all collected data is pseudonymized. It is not possible for us to identify individuals. If you do not want to receive user-based advertising from Google, you can deactivate the display of advertisements using Google's ad settings or, alternatively, select the types of Google ads. You can also prevent the storage of the cookies required for this technology by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all of the functions of this website to their full extent. For information on how to prevent data collection by Google Analytics, see the "Use of Google Analytics" section. For more information about how Google uses cookies, see Google's privacy policy.

8.5 NEW RELIC

New Relic, a performance analysis service provided by New Relic Inc. (101 Second Street, 15th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105), is integrated into this website via the Stackla service. New Relic uses cookies to collect data on user behavior on our website. This information is then used to create and store user profiles using pseudonyms. These pseudonymized user profiles will not be merged with the website user's personal data without the express consent of the data subject. Furthermore, we use New Relic to measure and monitor the technical performance of our website, i.e., to determine, for example, whether the website can be accessed and how quickly the respective page is displayed. For this purpose, New Relic collects data about this website, such as system data on the add-ons used, usage times, browsers used, and hardware and software used (so-called "application data"). New Relic also places one or more cookies in your browser for this purpose. The application data is stored on New Relic's servers and used to analyze the performance of this website and to compare performance across different websites. The cookies set by New Relic have a maximum lifespan of 24 months. The legal basis for the data processing described is our legitimate interest in optimizing, measuring, and securing our website, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all of the functions of our website to their full extent. Further options for deactivating cookies by third parties can be found at www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp or Digital Advertising Alliance Opt-Out Plattform. For more information about New Relic, please visit www.newrelic.de. The privacy policy is available at http://newrelic.com/privacy.

9 DATA TRANSFER

Except in the cases mentioned above, your data will generally not be transferred to third parties unless we are legally obligated to do so, or the transfer of data is necessary to perform a contractual relationship, or you have previously expressly consented to the transfer of your data.
External service providers and partner companies, such as online payment providers or the shipping company commissioned with the delivery, will only receive your data to the extent necessary to process your order. In these cases, however, the scope of the data transferred is limited to the minimum required. To the extent that our external service providers come into contact with your personal data, we ensure, within the scope of order processing in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR, that they comply with the provisions of data protection laws in the same way. Please also note the respective privacy policies of the providers. The respective service provider is responsible for the content of third-party services; however, we will review the services for compliance with legal requirements where reasonable.
We attach great importance to processing your data within the EU/EEA. However, it may happen that we use service providers who process data outside the EU/EEA. In these cases, we ensure that an appropriate level of data protection is established at the recipient before transferring your personal data. This means that a level of data protection comparable to the standards within the EU is achieved through EU standard contracts or an adequacy decision, such as the EU Privacy Shield.
